aircraft Engine Borescope Inspection (BSI)
EASA approval: DE.147.0029
Borescope training equips students with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform visual inspections of aircraft engines with the help of borescope equipment. During the training, students will learn about different types of borescopes, their components, and how to handle and operate them properly. They will also receive instructions on how to inspect various parts and systems within an aircraft engine using a borescope.
The BSI courses are offered to technical individuals who will be required to conduct/review routine and non-routine borescope inspection tasks on the CFMI, IAE, GE, PW, and RR engine variants.
Engine-specific
courses comprise theoretical knowledge and practical training to ATA 104 Level IV
and provide skills and experience with borescope inspections for all specified
engine variants. It provides engine technicians with the operation principles
of borescope inspection for jet engines.
The courses are divided into two parts:
theoretical and practical. The practical part includes a Borescope inspection
and hands-on experience for each student.
The
practical training will include a Running Assessment to determine whether the
individual has successfully passed or not.
In the event that a client requests
it, students may be required to complete a closed-book multiple-choice test
with a minimum passing score of 75%, though there are no scheduled exams.
